The story follows Johnny Riggs, who masquerades as a guardian angel to swindle a convent-bred heiress out of her millions — until love, confession, and a fraught getaway upend the scheme. In this article we’ll check where you can watch it today — including whether Yolanda and the Thief is available on Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or Apple TV+ — and how to find it regionally or as a rental. The film didn’t win major awards on release, but its lavish choreography and dreamlike visuals keep it interesting for fans of classic Hollywood fantasy.

Yolanda and the Thief

Synopsis

A fugitive grifter named Johnny Riggs ends up in Patria, a small Latin-American republic. There he overhears a wealthy, convent-raised heiress beseeching her guardian angel to help her untangle a web of business problems. Sensing an opportunity, Riggs poses as that angel, wins her blind trust, and siphons off her fortune. Just as he and his partner are preparing to slip out of Patria with the loot, Riggs discovers he has fallen in love; he returns the money and leaves a note that is part confession, part declaration of devotion. But getting away from Patria turns out to be far more perilous and complicated than they ever anticipated.
