Capitol Critters

Synopsis

Set beneath the floors and within the walls of the White House in Washington, D.C., the animated series follows the daily lives and misadventures of the mice, rats, and cockroaches who inhabit that hidden world. Created through a collaboration between Steven Bochco Productions, Hanna-Barbera, and 20th Century Fox Television for ABC, the show completed 13 episodes, but ABC broadcast only seven of them between January 31 and March 14, 1992; Cartoon Network later aired the full 13-episode run in 1995. The series was one of several network attempts to replicate the prime-time animated success sparked by The Simpsons—alongside contemporaries like Fish Police and Family Dog—and, like those efforts, it failed to attract a large audience and was canceled after a short run.
