Synopsis

Short in stature but overflowing with determination, Hinata is inspired by a compact professional player and assembles a volleyball team during his final year of middle school. In their first tournament they face Tobio Kageyama—the feared "King of the Court"—and suffer a crushing defeat. Vowing to surpass his rival, Hinata trains relentlessly, and when both boys enter high school he joins the volleyball squad only to discover Kageyama has enrolled there too.
