Is the TV show Jerusalem Brew available on Netflix, Disney+, Prime or Apple TV+?
Jerusalem Brew (2003) is a family drama that lands like a quiet blow. Centered on widow Shimon Sadeh as he emerges from a year of mourning and remarries, the series mines tensions between secular life and growing ultra-Orthodox influence — a household split between a contractor’s practical world, a daughter’s piano lessons, and the small Tunisian synagogue where patriarch Eliahu pulls the strings. Expect intimate, synagogue-set confrontations, questions of faith and identity, and the kind of everyday power struggles that make the story feel lived-in. The series benefits from the steady hands behind the camera: Oscar-winning director Yankul Goldwasser brings his signature emotional clarity, while Nir Bergman — winner of the Israeli Academy Award for Broken Wings — contributes a sure touch with younger characters and moral conflict. Their collaboration helps turn familiar domestic beats into gut-punching drama. This article takes a practical turn next: we check where you can stream Jerusalem Brew today — whether it’s on Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or Apple TV+. Synopsis
Widower Shimon Sadeh, a successful general contractor, has just completed the traditional year of mourning for his wife and marries Leah, his daughter’s piano teacher. His eldest son, Ephraim, turns to ultra-Orthodox life, aligning himself with his grandfather Eliahu—who lives with the family and leads a small Tunisian synagogue, exerting strong influence over the household. The middle son, Itzik, rejects both his father’s trade and religious observance to pursue a career as a musician. Strong-willed Ariella, finishing high school, is fiercely independent and uncertain which path to take. Much of the story plays out in Eliahu’s little Tunisian synagogue, where the regulars’ power struggles echo the family’s tensions. The raw, emotionally charged drama is brought to life by Oscar-winner Yankul Goldwasser (director of the popular series Reaching for Heaven) together with young Israeli filmmaker Nir Bergman, whose debut feature Broken Wings won an Israeli Academy Award.
