Synopsis
At thirty, Mary Richards leaves a broken relationship behind and moves to Minneapolis to build a new life. She rents a room from an acquaintance, Phyllis, and quickly becomes close friends with her lively upstairs neighbor, Rhoda. Unexpectedly hired as an associate producer at local station WJM, Mary learns the ropes while dealing with her curt boss Lou, the witty newswriter Murray, and the well-meaning but frequently bungling anchor, Ted.
