Synopsis
Nanotechnology researcher Wang Miao is summoned to the Joint Operations Center by detective Shi Qiang, who is probing a string of inexplicable suicides among scientists around the globe. Pressed into an undercover role, Wang is tasked with infiltrating a secretive group known as the Frontiers of Science. There he meets the group's enigmatic head, Shen Yufei, who introduces him to an advanced virtual-reality simulation called Three-Body — a game that gradually reveals itself to be far more than mere entertainment.
