Synopsis
Across six episodes, investigative journalist Hannis Martinsson (Ulrich Thomsen) is jolted when he receives a message from Sonja, a young woman from the Faroe Islands who claims to be his daughter and warns she is in danger. Reluctantly returning home to probe her plea, Hannis’s visit turns tragic when he discovers Sonja’s body floating in the blood-slicked waters of a traditional whale hunt. His search for answers puts him at odds with Karla Mohr (Maria Rich, "Follow the Money"), the island’s chief detective, and pulls back the curtain on a tangle of long-hidden loyalties, lies and obligations within the insular community. As old wounds reopen and alliances shift, Hannis must decide how far he is willing to go—and what he will risk—to uncover the truth.
