Synopsis

In 1928, Wei Ruolai, a low-level clerk at a financial institution, is driven by an unshakable desire to serve his country. He looks to Shen Tunan, a senior adviser, as a mentor after catching his attention with an extraordinary memory and a talent for analyzing data. As Wei is drawn deeper into the workings of the finance world, he sees firsthand the blatant corruption and dark practices spreading through the sector under the Kuomintang, forcing him to confront the cost of his ideals.
