Synopsis

Manchester’s gritty industrial quarters set the scene when Don Starling breaks out of prison and becomes England’s most wanted fugitive. A remorseless operator, Starling and his crew pulled off a robbery that ended in the fatal assault of a young girl. Detective Inspector Martineau is charged with tracking him down, following a trail from dingy pubs to illicit gaming dens that culminates in a high-stakes, rooftop confrontation above the city.
