Is the movie Ishtar available on Netflix, Disney+, Prime or Apple TV+?
At Stream Tracker, we check whether cult curiosities and box-office misadventures are available where you actually watch. Ishtar (1987) — the misadventurous story of two terrible lounge singers who bumble from a Moroccan hotel gig into a CIA-backed tug-of-war with the Emir and local rebels — is one of those films that lives as much in legend as on screen. Directed by Elaine May and starring Warren Beatty and Dustin Hoffman, it was famously panned on release and attracted Golden Raspberry attention, though opinions have mellowed over time. In this article we’ll tell you whether Ishtar is streaming on Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or Apple TV+, and point out any versions, extras or regional quirks worth knowing before you press play on this desert-set diplomatic farce.
Synopsis
Two hapless lounge singers accept a last-minute booking at a chic Moroccan hotel and, through a string of misunderstandings, find themselves swept into a high-stakes geopolitical chess match. Mistaken for more than just entertainers, they become tools for the CIA, the authoritarian Emir of Ishtar, and the rebel faction aiming to topple him—each side using the duo’s access and clueless charm to further its own agenda. As their off-key performances and petty schemes ripple into violence and deception, the pair must navigate shifting loyalties and decide whether to play along, betray their handlers, or bail out before the music stops.
