Synopsis

An unexpected blizzard shuts down an entire upstate New York town, and a band of elementary school kids led by spirited Natalie Brandston hatch a scheme to keep classes canceled by trying to stop the lone snowplow operator — even attempting to seize his truck. Meanwhile, Natalie’s older brother Hal uses the free day to try to win the heart of Claire Bonner, the most popular girl at his high school, while their father Tom, a local TV meteorologist, squares off with a rival forecaster as both compete to cover the day’s unfolding events.
