Synopsis
Grieving a recent loss, Sarah accepts an invitation from friends to explore a network of caves in the Appalachian Mountains, hoping the trip will offer distraction and solace. Their excursion turns disastrous when a rockfall seals the entrance, leaving them stranded in total darkness with dwindling supplies. As they probe the tunnels for a way out, they realize something else inhabits the grotto—adapted, savage creatures that hunt in the black. Cut off from help and with fear sharpening old wounds and mistrust, the women must battle both the predators in the rock and the fracturing bonds between them if any of them are to make it back to daylight.
