The Deuce

Synopsis

From the early 1970s through the mid-1980s, Times Square becomes the epicenter of a booming adult-entertainment economy, its theaters, peep shows and production houses carving out a chaotic, lucrative underworld. The series follows the hustlers, entrepreneurs, performers and lawmen who navigate a landscape of ambition, exploitation and rough nightlife, where the rules are made and broken on the spot. That era ultimately unravels as the AIDS crisis, a wave of cocaine-fueled violence and a resurgent real-estate market converge to shut down the bawdy, turbulent scene and remake the neighborhood.
