The Story of Cinderella

Synopsis

The only daughter of a wealthy duke, Cinderella gains a stepmother and stepsisters when her father remarries—only to discover, after he departs on foreign business, that her new household is anything but welcoming. Forced into endless chores and the management of the estate by a cruel stepmother and pampered stepsisters, she nonetheless keeps a warm, gentle spirit, caring for the animals around her and quietly befriending a mysterious young man named Charles, who appears to have ties to the prince of Emerald Castle. This fresh retelling of the familiar fairy tale follows her resilience and hope, and when her stepmother forbids her from attending the Royal Ball, Cinderella receives unexpected aid from loyal mice Gus and Jaq and from a surprising Fairy Godmother.
