Is the movie The Curse of the Jade Scorpion available on Netflix, Disney+, Prime or Apple TV+?
Woody Allen’s The Curse of the Jade Scorpion (2001) is a playful, 1940s-flavored caper where office politics collide with sleight of hand and hypnosis. Veteran insurance sleuth C.W. Briggs and the newly recruited Betty Ann Fitzgerald find themselves unwilling accomplices after a nightclub hypnotist named Voltan plants criminal suggestions that turn everyday coworkers into players in an old‑school heist. Part romantic comedy, part noir pastiche, the film leans on period charm, magic tricks and the tug-of-war between suspicion and attraction. If you’re wondering whether you can catch it on Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or AppleTV+, Stream Tracker checks each platform’s catalog so you don’t have to—scroll down for the up‑to‑date streaming status. The film didn’t pick up major awards, but it remains a diverting entry in Allen’s romp-heavy catalog for fans of mystery, misdirection and retro romance.
Synopsis
C.W. Briggs is a seasoned insurance investigator with a long record of closed cases; Betty Ann Fitzgerald is the company’s new recruit, hired to overhaul the cluttered office. They appear to be natural antagonists—each convinced the other is impossible to work with. On a company night out they attend a show by Voltan, a charismatic magician who, without their knowledge, slips them into a trance.
