Synopsis

After German police violently suppress a protest against the Shah of Iran, well-known journalist Ulrike Meinhof breaks away from her troubled marriage, leaves her children, and joins radical activist Andreas Baader. Together with Baader’s partner Gudrun Ensslin, they establish the militant Red Army Faction and carry out a series of violent attacks intended to undermine what they see as an increasingly authoritarian state.
